EECMYSWBS

Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus South West Bethel Synod

The Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus South West Bethel Synod (EECMY SWBS) serves as a key spiritual and administrative entity, following the foundation of faith, believes and affirms that the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the Holy Word of God, free from error in all matters of faith and doctrine, and are the sole and supreme authority for the faith and order of the Church. The Synod follows the Creeds of the Apostles, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed, which were prepared by the early church fathers and accepted by the ancient Church. The Synod also accepts unaltered Augsburg Confession and Luther’s Catechisms, which were prepared by the reformers of the Church, as purely and rightly interpreted according to the Word of God.

Headquartered in Mizan Teferi, the Synod operates throughout the Bench Sheko, Kaffa, Sheka, and West Omo zones, reaching diverse populations with the message of salvation and the values of compassion, justice, and integrity. The Synod is committed to theological soundness, moral accountability, and inclusive ministry.

Through its various church-based and community-oriented programs, the South West Bethel Synod continues to strengthen faith, empower local congregations, and contribute meaningfully to spiritual, social, and economic development in the region. We welcome you to learn more about our mission, values, and vibrant ministry.
